I think I've amassed tons of red dress as well as other red articles of clothing in my wardrobe (I can't visually check, it's currently chaotic in there). I bought this dress specifically for Chinese New Year's Eve. The color red scares away bad spirits and mythical beasts. I do hope I didn't look scary to people though. ;)
I was also inspired to accessorize it like Marisa Tomei's people's choice awards outfit: http://www.celebstyle.com/2672649#looks. It's not much, but I wore my white kultura necklace (wrapped around so it won't be long) and nude sandals.
